Why it works
The right size, first time
One Extra Large (70x100 cm) on its own, or two Large (50x70 cm) side by side: together they should cover about two thirds of the sofa's width.
Above the sideboard, too
Centre a Large print above a sideboard or console, or lean it framed against the wall for a more relaxed look.

Getting the main living-room wall right
Test the size before you order
Mark out a rectangle of the size you have in mind on the wall with masking tape. In a few minutes, you'll see whether a Large (50x70 cm) is enough or an Extra Large (70x100 cm) is needed.
Next to the TV
Beside a screen, two Mediums (30x40 cm) stacked vertically work better than one Large: they balance the dark screen without competing with it.
Think about the light
The matte finish avoids glare, but strong sunlight is hard on any paper. Choose a wall that doesn't catch the full afternoon sun.

Pick the wall you see from the sofa or as you walk in: that's the one that sets the tone. An Extra Large (70x100 cm) reads well there, even from the far side of the room.
